Governor's Council on MN Lake Superior Coastal Program
An essential component of Minnesota's Lake Superior Coastal Program is the Governor's Council on Minnesota's Coastal Program. The Council makes recommendations to the Commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources on grant priorities, projects to receive grant funding, and the program's annual administrative budget.

NOTICE:
The Coastal Program is currently seeking candidates from Cook (2 vacancies), Carlton (1 vacancy), Lake (1 vacancy) and St. Louis (1 vacancy) counties to serve on the Governor’s Council on Minnesota’s Coastal Program. Candidates must be nominated by a local unit of government from within the coastal boundary (city, township, or county). Each local unit of government can submit up to three nominations. Only one elected official from each county may serve on the Coastal Council.
In addition, there are two at-large vacancies on the council; any Minnesota resident can submit a nominee for an at-large position.
The Governor makes all Coastal Council appointments.
Applications are due by September 15, 2008. Each application (except at-large applications) should be accompanied by a resolution of support from the nominating unit of government. Applications can be downloaded from the Secretary of State at www.sos.state.mn.us/home/index.asp?page=306
