This trail is located along old railroad grade, making the trail basically level with some gently rolling hills. Deer are abundant, as well as small mammals and birds.

On the east edge of Willmar: From U.S. Hwy 12 go north 2 miles on Kandiyohi County Road #9; Go west on Civic Center Road 1/8 mile to Parking Lot entrance on north side of road.
Parking is available at the trailhead and also at Spicer and Hawick.
